Male survivors

I have become aware that there is still a disparity in the help for male survivors. It’s because society still is under the illusion that sexual abuse doesn’t happen to boys.

It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. It does happen. The reported figures for the United States are 1 in 6 that is 16% of the male population. This is not acceptable in the 21st century.

It’s time to say we will listen and believe you. And to put in place systems to help survivors become the people they were meant to be. It’s time to shatter the myths around abuse and break our silence.

It’s time to say no more hiding, no more pain and to stand tall and free.

  1. I agree! Time for change! No more stigma! No more hiding! Boys have as much rights as women to get the help that they need when it comes to child abuse.
