Finding our voices

Finding our voices is an important part of healing from abuse. From my point view it has given me confidence that it’s the right thing to do.

Confidence is so fragile though. I see it as a plant, a sunflower that starts off so tiny and fragile. The problem with this is when confidence is so little anything can destroy it. Only when the plant takes root and is bigger it can defend it self from being attacked. The stem is thicker and stronger. And when the sunflower blooms it’s a sight to behold.

The problem while trying to grow in confidence is when others don’t believe that you can step up to the next level. When you get the next level your confidence is boosted by the challenge. But when there is no challenge and you can’t progress in the way you need, confidence is dented and you have to build yourself up again.

Sometimes the hardest thing is to take the knocks especially if you have made progress.

I am now not afraid to share the fact that I was abused even if it costs me in other areas of my life.

The truth is that silence is the abusers best weapon. We are STRONGER TOGETHER
