One thing I have learned through talking to other survivors is how strong we are. Somebody said to me only the weak cry. They are wrong. To live with this in their lives shows great courage and strength.
This courage comes from years of pain and blame. Blame from the abuser and the pain of what happened. The strength is an inner power to want to heal and become the people who we were meant to be.
The strength I’m talking about is a superhuman strength. The will to survive and to thrive. I see this in the eyes and hear this in their voices. When you have carried this with you become a very strong and caring person. You begin to understand things that others could never understand.
As you begin to live again the true strength of being a survivor.
Survivors are stronger together
